‘ARTimeleia’ is an inclusive theater group consisted of disabled and non disabled actors based in Athens. Its primary aim is to explore the unlimited possibilities that the physical limits offer in an integrated theatrical environment.

Artimeleia is a Greek word that means ‘whole and healthy’. For the group ‘artimeleia’ defines the wholeness and health through ‘art’.

Annita Capousizi (Anna Kapousizi) is a teacher and program director of theater with people with neuromuscular disorders.  She has a BA in Greek Literature, majored in Linguistics, a diploma in Acting and an MA in Theater Studies.

She worked as an actress in performances in various theaters and festivals in Athens, including Hellenic Festival.

She has worked as a Drama Teacher and Head Theater Program Coordinator in theatres and multi-cultural spaces.

She got interested in the function of the body of the performer on stage attending numerous workshops in Greece and abroad.

In 2011, she cooperated with MDA HELLAS (Institution for people with neuromuscular disorders) as a Drama Program Director.

Since then, she has devoted her work and research on building the suitable medical and artistic background for the production and staging of performances integrating disabled and non-disabled performers.

She has developed her research as a Fulbright Scholar in Carolina’s Healthcare System Neurosciences Institute, North Carolina and in American Center for Alexander Technique, New York.

She has presented her work on theater with neuromuscular disorders as a Fulbright Visiting Researcher in Oregon Science and Health University (OSHU), in the 4th World Parkinson Congress where she also leaded a theater workshop and in ACAT NY where she staged a performance.

She is also a member of Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab, Hellenic Theater Studies Association and European Network of Research and Documentation of Performance of Ancient Greek Drama (Arc-Net).

Nikos is born in Paxoi, a small Ionian island. He always loved theater, he feels the stage as home and he has been in the group since its very first day.

Fani, started performing in a very early age as an actress and dancer. She let her life take over and after 30 years she is picking up with the group, from where she left. She is a member of the group since the beginning.

Connie Zikou is a Greek-based actress. She studied acting and Theater Arts. From August 2016 she is training in Suzuki technique with the Suzuki Company of Toga and attends their workshops around the world.

Mary is in love with theater and translation. She has been a member from the very beginning and she is the invaluable assistant director of the group.

Eva was born in Athens. She works as a graphic designer and continues her studies in the Theater Department of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Her aim is the active study and promotion of the performance art. She has been in the group for six years.

Mariliana was born on February 1rst, a cold and snowy noon of a Saturday in 1992. Since then she searches for ways to shake off the snow. One of her ways is through acting. She has been a member the last two years.
